In addition to trying to keep you from leaving Edge, Microsoft has been pretty aggressive in pushing people to use its browser.
Edge is also available for macOS, iOS, or Android devices. Microsoft Edge is included with Windows 10 by default, replacing Internet Explorer as the default browser for Windows. Is Microsoft Edge required for Windows 10? Note that even if you’ve previously set up another browser to be your default, it might have been changed since then. But you might still prefer to use Chrome, Firefox, or one of the many other browsers out there. The new Edge is a much better browser, and there are compelling reasons to use it. It’s integrated into Windows and you may run into issues if you uninstall it. It’s not hurting anything by being there.
